In this episode of The Male Perspective, Lana Reid sits down with Russ Green, Founder of Bison Impact Group, Inc. (BIG). Russ Green is a nonprofit executive dedicated to leveraging the power of golf to raise awareness and funds to end domestic violence and intimate partner violence.
Through initiatives like the HBCU Golf Tournament, BIG not only supports students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities but also introduces more Black communities to the game of golf. Proceeds benefit Howard University’s Interpersonal Violence Prevention Program (IVPP) and Spelman College’s Violence Prevention & Intervention Program (VP&I).
Bison Impact Group’s signature programs include:
BIG Boot Camp – a beginners golf clinic
Soulful Sundays – weekly golf clinic & 9-hole outing
Skip Day for Kids & Caregivers – annual April event during Child Abuse Prevention & Sexual Assault Awareness Month
HBCU Golf Tournament – annual October fundraiser during Domestic Violence Awareness Month & HBCU Homecoming season
