During our KPFK Membership Fund Drive, we have a special Black History Edition of Conversation Piece with a speech you may not have heard as much as the I have a Dream speech. This speech was given in Los Angeles on March 16, 1968, less than three weeks before Rev Dr Martin Luther King Junior was assassinated. The setting is a house in the Hollywood Hills with a group of artists who were concerned about the war in Vietnam. Dr. King is introduced by one of the artists there, novelist, playwright, and poet James Baldwin. KPFK was there to record the event and Pacifica Archives has curated it.
