Before transitioning to law, Thurman performed clinical research at the National Institutes of Health and UT Southwestern. After leaving research, he joined the sports media company Rate My College Coaches as a sports journalist and is now their Director of Intellectual Property. Additionally, he works for Generational Law Group at the intersection of sports, music, media, and intellectual property. As the Director of Intellectual Property at RateMyCollegeCoaches and former NCAA Compliance Law Extern, he serves as a great resource to help athletes, musicians, and other creatives build the value of their trademarks, copyrights, contracts, and NIL.
