We welcome back my boyfriend Dan, who was on a few episodes ago where we discussed why pride branding matters. As promised, we revisit pride month and talk about some of our favorite moments in rainbow capitalism and why they were AMAZINGGG. We also talk about some pride month fails where we call out a few things that could've been done JUST A LITTLE BETTER, and the hypocrisy & double standards that the gays are guilty of when engaging with certain brands that don’t always have the interests of the LGBTQ+ community in mind. Understanding these campaigns and the way that the world of advertising works helps us become more savvy consumers, advocates, allies, etc. The world we live in is changing, and so is our political climate and whether we like this shit or not, understanding the positive impact of pride branding is V important for our community.
