Episode 110: Amber Onteveros

What is the importance of recognizing how our own wounds impact our interactions with other people? How can this learning bring us towards deeper understanding and conflict resolution?

In this series on healthcare and social disparities, Dr. Jill Wener, a board-certified Internal Medicine specialist, anti-racism educator, meditation expert, and tapping practitioner, interviews experts and gives her own insights into multiple fields relating to social justice and anti-racism.

In this episode, Jill interviews Amber Onteveros, author and advocate for civil rights. They take on the topic of the intersection between spirituality and healing and DEI work. Listen as Amber guides Jill through a deeply personal and profound healing exercise, as an example of the work she does with her clients.

As President and Founder of Ontiveros and Associates LLC, Amber Ontiveros works to create effective, defensible diversity and civil rights programs.

After a life-altering near-death experience, Amber recognized the limitations of traditional racial equity conversations and was inspired to innovate. She uses tools grounded in the neuroscience of unconscious bias to foster a positive workplace culture.

Amber has been a passionate advocate for civil rights for more than two decades, with a focus on uplifting marginalized groups and communities of color.
