S3E3 Supplements 101 with Kelin Marquet
In the age of influencers, it can be really easy to hear about a supplement on social media that is "good" for your gut, skin, or brain and impulse buy it on Amazon without even considering the ingredients in the product or the dosage. Because of the popularity and easy access to supplements online and at stores, I wanted to chat with the co-founder of one of my favorite supplement brands, Why Not Natural. In this episode, Kelin and I chat about the basics that you need to know when purchasing supplements and answer any specific question that you had regarding supplements.

Kelin is a chemical engineer and the co-founder of Why Not Natural, a brand of natural supplements that you can find on Amazon and their website, www.whynotnatural.com. They have a proprietary list of standards they follow in creating their supplements and believe in making clean, minimalist supplements that work. Their B12 was ranked best on the market by LabDoor and they have thousands of raving reviews online.

What we chat about:
  • Why Kelin bought Why Not Natural
  • The amount of research and testing that goes into creating a new supplement
  • Ingredients to look for (and avoid) on a supplement label
  • Certifications that supplements you buy should have
  • What bioavailability means
  • The most bioavailable sources of magnesium and zinc
  • Why dosing and working with a practitioner matters
  • Supplements for gut health
  • Benefits of taking collagen
  • Best supplements for skin health
  • One supplement to improve your sleep
