Rachel ::: Getting outside your comfort zone” isn’t always the best way to learn
Dr. Rachel White Galvin is a freelance musician and movement maven. She has been playing viola and violin professionally for over 20 years. She studied with Helen Callus at UC: Santa Barbara where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Viola Performance. Rachel’s true passion is musician’s health and fitness. She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Method Practitioner as well as a former Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. She also holds certifications from USA Weightlifting, Foundation Training, and Functional Movement Systems. For much of her career, she struggled with playing-related repetitive stress injuries, but found no real help from the many medical professionals she consulted. In frustration, she turned to rehabilitating herself through movement and exercise. Her experience with injury, and her passions for movement and music align in her practice of helping musicians who are in pain. mindfeltmethods.com
