The word immigrant to so many like me, it signifies someone with a dream; a dreamer. I am Nancy Mulemwa Siisii. I was born and raised in Zambia, Africa, but I later migrated to America and settled in New York where I’ve been living for 20 years. As a dreamer, I have and continue to have a passion for making substantive bonds with audiences, and helping to inspire people to reach for their dreams. Being an immigrant has been one of the most challenging and extraordinary experiences of my life. It inspired me to start my podcast “Concrete Pastures: An African Immigrant Story” as a platform to reach out to fellow immigrants and dreamers.

S6 Ep4 Shining a Light: Mwape Chimpampa's Journey to Empowering Albinism Advocacy Through Affordable Sunscreen
Mwape Chimpampa is a remarkable 15-year-old secondary school student from Zambia. Driven by a personal loss, she has taken on the challenge of creating an affordable sunscreen specifically for people with albinism. After losing her father to skin cancer in 2017, Mwape recognized the urgent need for accessible sun protection, especially for those in low-income communities.  Her dedication to this cause not only honors her father's memory but also highlights the important advocacy work being done by individuals like Muluka-Anne Miti Drummond, the UN Independent Expert on albinism, who is pushing for sunscreen to be included on the WHO’s list of essential medicines. Join us as we dive into Mwape's inspiring journey and her vision for a brighter future for those living with albinism."
