The word immigrant to so many like me, it signifies someone with a dream; a dreamer. I am Nancy Mulemwa Siisii. I was born and raised in Zambia, Africa, but I later migrated to America and settled in New York where I’ve been living for 20 years. As a dreamer, I have and continue to have a passion for making substantive bonds with audiences, and helping to inspire people to reach for their dreams. Being an immigrant has been one of the most challenging and extraordinary experiences of my life. It inspired me to start my podcast “Concrete Pastures: An African Immigrant Story” as a platform to reach out to fellow immigrants and dreamers.

S6 Ep 5 Levis Chidolo Kajibwami Multifaceted filmmaker, Writer
Meet Levis Chidolo Kajibwami, a multifaceted filmmaker, writer, spoken word artist, and dedicated youth leader hailing from Bukavu, DRC. Since relocating to Uganda in 2010 as a refugee, Levis has harnessed the power of storytelling to foster healing, empowerment, and transformative change in his community. As the co-founder and Executive Director of Voice of Refugee Media (VORM), Levis champions the stories of refugees through innovative mediums like film, photography, and digital storytelling. His notable productions, including "Ntumba: The Refugee Despite Him" and "The Outcomes," delve into the resilience and challenges faced by those living the refugee experience. Beyond his film work, he is passionate about mentoring the next generation, particularly fellow refugees. He leads acting classes, conducts digital skills training, and supports creative initiatives that empower youth to share their stories and make their voices heard. Levis also contributes to marketing and promotion at Stream Asylum, a refugee-led media organization, furthering his mission of amplifying diverse voices through art and advocacy.
