Join eight mighty teams from across South-East Queensland as dance mania takes over, and hundreds of people lose their sense of decorum in the fight for the ultimate reverse garbage trophy and the title of winner of the 2023 Common People Dance Eisteddfod.

Egypt has the pyramids. India, the Taj Mahal. China, the Great Wall. In Queensland, we have the Common People Dance Eisteddfod.

The Common People People Project follows the people behind Australia’s own great wonder of the world.

The routine themes are locked in, the dance moves are *mostly* taking shape, and every last sequin and inch of stretch fabric in the south-east corner has been snapped up to make hundreds of costumes… so our eight mighty teams are feeling prepared for the big day, right…?

Wrong! With four weeks to the 2023 Eisteddfod, the Common People turn their attention to a final detail they hope will take their performances to the next level - props.

Common People People Project was made in Magandjin / Meanjin, and recorded on the Country of the Turrbal, Yuggara, Bundjalung and Gubbi Gubbi peoples. We extend our deepest respect to the First Peoples, who have danced here since time immemorial.
