A true norm breaker and pioneer, German rally champion and motivational speaker Jutta Kleinschmidt is our guest storyteller and guest of expertise in this very special episode. Jutta shares her awe-inspiring life story of going from a blooming career in physics engineering to becoming the world’s most successful woman in marathon rallying. She's the only woman ever to have won the world’s hardest, meanest and most fiercely competed race: the legendary Dakar Rally.
Jutta’s journey is so extraordinary that Steven Spielberg and his production company Amblin Partners in Hollywood are in the process of turning her amazing life and autobiographical book, My Victory at Dakar, into a feature film. In this conversation, we get a unique insight into the most dangerous off-rally endurance race on the planet, Jutta’s mindset and methods, as well as the mind-blowing challenges she endured while racing. We also learn how Jutta defied prejudices and normative gender roles from an early age and how she came to identify her passion and worked systematically by setting new goals for herself until—against all odds—she ended up winning the Everest of rally races.
As Jutta shares her journey, we gain valuable and inspiring insights into what we are capable of if we take our dreams, and ourselves, seriously. The champion offers up some incredibly simple but very effective hands-on advice on how we all can identify our goals and wake up every morning with passion and purpose.
In this episode we touch upon:
-Taking risks and how to think when making life-changing decisions.
-Learning to be comfortable with discomfort.
-Listening to your inner voice.
-The essentials of goal setting.
- How to motivate yourself during difficult times.
-How anyone can become a norm-breaker.
