She can drive a golf ball as very few people can. Irene Crowchild is a two-time Canadian long-drive champion. Raised in the Tsuut'ina Nation near Calgary, Irene’s journey to the top of her sport is one filled with tears*, tragedy and, ultimately, triumph.

Golf Town’s Hugh Burrill spoke with Irene in a 2022 interview about the challenges of finding her passion for golf, how a wrong-handed set of clubs almost ended her career before it began and how it felt to win a National Long Drive Championship … and then another one.
