Splits and ties dominated the scoreboard over the weekend. We had some old WCHA rivalries rekindled, some in-state scraps and some bizarre flips from one game to the next. But that’s all normal in the world of men’s and women’s Division I college hockey - or so I’ve learned. It’s time for Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. We’ll begin on the men’s side …

On Thursday, No. 17 Wisconsin and No. 20 Minnesota State skated to a 1-1 tie with the Badgers winning in the shootout. On Friday, it was the same, only this time it was a 2-2 tie with the Badgers scoring twice in the second to tie the game and then winning the shootout. Minnesota State hosts RPI in Mankato this coming weekend in a non-conference series. But you knew that. RPI was non-conference, that is.

Saturday night was tighter on shots as UND held just a three-shot advantage, but five different Gophers scored to spread the wealth and head back to the Twin Cities with the win. Brody Lamb scored his fourth of the season. Minnesota will host UMD this weekend.
Minnesota Duluth vs Bemidji State (Home and Home) Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 7, Bemidji State 3 (at Bemidji State) Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 5, Bemidji State 1 (at UMD) Minnesota-Duluth picked up a sweep over in-state rival Bemidji State on a home-and-home series.
