Episode 59: The Collapse of the Murdaugh Dynasty Part 2 - The Accidental Death of Gloria Satterfield
Gloria Satterfield was a devoted Mother, friend, wife, sister, and house keeper for the notorious Murdaugh family for nearly 20 years. On the morning of February 2, 2018 Gloria would arrive to work around 8:30am with her purse on her shoulder and bag of breakfast in her hand. She would proceed up the steps to enter the Murdaugh home to either pick up a paycheck or start work (depending on the sources you read), however she would be "tripped up" by the four family dogs and would fall back to crack her skull open on the brick steps of the home. Nearly 24 days of surgeries, being resuscitated after a heart attack, and eventually falling into a deep coma, 57 year-old Gloria would not make it home to recover and would sadly pass away in the hospital on February 26, 2018.
According to Maggie and Paul Murdaugh, they were sleeping at the time of the incident and they rushed outside to call 911 in hopes that her life would be saved, however listening to the call.... we've got some questions.
