In this episode, we explore the difference in the mind set on the flesh vs. the mind set on the Spirit. It appears clear that Calvin taught that outside of God’s grace through regeneration, all we do is evil. And this makes sense, if we could actually do things that are spiritually fruitful without the Spirit of God in our lives, if we could actually do what is pleasing to God without God working through us, then we wouldn’t actually be dead in our sins. We would be partially alive, spiritually speaking, and that is not at all the picture of our fallen state that Scripture paints for us.

We are dead in our trespasses and sins; we are opposed to God by our very nature. We do not seek Him on our own, we do not do anything good.
