After the stock market crash in 1929, times were tough and moral was low. Coca Cola created a marketing campaign with the slogan, “The pause that refreshes”. It became more than a simple tagline but a cultural catchphrase. It served as a reminder to take a moment, to pause, and to enjoy a refreshing break and drink Coke of course! In this episode, Genny spoke about the importance of taking a pause; of taking a moment to consider whether you need to make changes in your life or to consider a new direction. She spoke about considering the pros and cons of a decision but then listening to your body as to whether it’s the right decision or not. Genny shared a poem by Tanner Olson entitled, “This is not the End” that spoke to her about this topic, especially these words, “So, before you move onto the next thing, pause. Sit with what is. Just for a moment.” She also shared that she is taking a pause from the podcast for now. She mentioned needing to devote some time to a few projects that need her attention. But she also mentioned wanting to be available for the birth of her grandson; of wanting more time with her granddaughter Leni; and just taking some time.
