In this episode, Genny spoke with Shelby Olson, co-owner (along with her partner Evgeny Gotfrid) of Beauty Bark. It's a local Winnipeg company that produces Canada’s first naturally sweetened chocolate bark made with organic cacao and organic mushroom extracts. Shelby shared the story of how and why they created Beauty Bark. She always loved chocolate but found that eating most of the chocolate available in the stores started to have an adverse effect on her system, affecting the inside and outside of her body, especially during certain times of the month. After experimenting with different ingredients, she and Evgeny created a chocolate that contains no refined sugar and is sweetened with the purest maple syrup.
