She also mentioned the adage, “when one door closes, another opens” in reference to embracing possibilities and opportunities. To expect the unexpected is to know there will be surprises along the way and that things cannot be controlled. Life is imperfect so it’s important to be prepared for anything at anytime. It’s about embracing surprises and enjoying the anticipation. It’s staying flexible and going with the flow, and not getting too attached to your plans or your routines. Leave some wiggle room for the unexpected. Finally, Genny suggests to always have a plan b or a backup plan. It’s helps to deal with the unexpected and build your resilience.
