LA is: superficial, busy, careless, smelly, dirty, faithless...we've heard it all. Sure, we can acknowledge the parts of it that are less than ideal. But LA is also deeply connected, calculated, present, curious, creative, and passionate. There are multiple faces of LA, and anyone who visits will experience it in different ways. This city breathes. It's alive and commanding. Your best self lies on the other side of these experiences.Join us, Ashleigh and Katie, as we explore hot button issues and controversial topics with new perspectives to take away with each episode. Our mission is to help you welcome new ideas, inspire new conversations, and encourage curiosity. You don't have to be from Southern California to take away something from each episode. Our podcast will cover a wide range of topics such as alternative medicine, influencer lifestyles, spirituality, society & culture, and more. While we're both curious about the world, we are also millennial girls who love a drink, tiktok references, and some of the more 'superficial' things in life. Join us every Monday for new episodes!

Beauty Inclusivity Is A Myth in Late Stage Capitalism

What is beauty and is it truly in the eye of the beholder? In this solo episode Ashleigh investigates the consumerism of beauty in late stage capitalism and why “inclusive beauty” is a myth. Inspired by content creator and academic @ayandastood. Ashleigh explores whether we can truly attain beauty and debates whether this is the inherent flaw to the whole concept.
