
I think the biggest is to try to escape feelings, to try to numb down feelings of loss or grief or anger or resentment.
But also I think alcohol use ticks up because we may be going out more than we used to when we were married, and having more of a structured life.
Like we may be dating again or reconnecting with friends. And oftentimes in our culture, that means going out for drink.
