The Canadian Multicultural Inventors Museum Podcast promotes innovative thinking in young people by telling the story of innovators from diverse backgrounds.
Our first episode is about Elijah McCoy (1844-1929), an engineer known for the invention of the lubricating cup. His invention would significantly improve railroad transportation by automatically lubricating moving parts of the train, eliminating the time and manual labor required for this procedure. In this episode, we explore McCoy’s invention, his life and legacy as a Black inventor, and why he may be “The Real McCoy”.
This episode was written by Rathees Uthayakuma. Presented by Alexandra Ratchis and Krupa Prajapati. The music is from The Radio Droids. Sound and editing by Mark Higgingbottom.
Thank you for listening to our podcast. CMIM will continue to release new podcasts on Canadian inventors and innovators so stay tuned!
