Orbiting Zero is the debit solo by Aleš Hrdlička, a performer, juggler and magician. The piece moves between object manipulation and new magic, with the circle at its very centre. As a geometric form, Aleš Hrdlička explores in detail, testing its limits, deconstructing it and building new images from it. Rather than telling a specific story, he invites the audience to perceive the objects and situations through their own imagination. Listen to more about Orbiting Zero in the CIRQUEON CIRCUS PODCAST hosted by Veronika Jošková Štefanová and accompanied by sound design from Orbiting Zero by Oliver Torr & Jonas Balcar.

"Can the circus promote a sense of belonging?" Lecture by Barbora Adolfová on the "young voice" in circus
The CIRQUEON Library organized another lecture, this time on the topic "How to Connect Academic Research and Practice in Circus?" The main speaker, producer, and researcher Barbora Adolfová, shared her experiences and insights from the field of social circus. Barbora Adolfová encountered young and social circus at CIRQUEON in 2010, which eventually led to her doctoral studies at DAMU, a Fulbright scholarship at Pennsylvania State University in the USA, and most recently to her work in Brussels, where she coordinates the international network of young and social circus, Caravan Circus Network, since January 2024.
During the meeting at the CIRQUEON Library, Barbora Adolfová presented her qualitative research focused on the "young" voice, aiming to demonstrate that circus for youth can promote solidarity and strengthen community bonds. Veronika Jošková Štefanová, editor-in-chief of the Cirqueon Circus Podcast, invited listeners to tune in to this discussion to better understand the connection between academic research and practical applications in the circus field.
