How Circular Econnomy can improve the sustainability of electronic waste management ?

In this episode, Federico Magalini, Circulab certified consultant based in London, and Managing Director of Sofies Group for UK. Federico has got as core business the management of electronic waste, since his master thesis. In this podcast he shares with us te context for Electronics in Europe and developing countries - about the production, use, and end of life - and how these products are managed at the end of life. He specifically speaks about critical raw materials, the use span for Electronic devices and the new business models.

Some key figures Federico mentions during the talk:

- one inhabitant produces 15 to 24 kilos of e-waste per year

- consumers can keep in the drawers up to 20kg (In Italy) of non-used devices. This is called the hibernation effect.

- metals and key metals of the periodic table (indium, platinium...) and critical raw materials

- the Electronics is part of the Circular Economy Package
