On the cross, Jesus spoke seven powerful statements that reveal the depth of His love and the purpose of His mission—“Father, forgive them,” “It is finished,” “Into Your hands I commit My spirit.” As He endured the wrath of God for the sins of the world, He became the second Adam—undoing the curse brought through the first. Through Adam’s disobedience came death from a living tree, but through Christ’s obedience came life from a dead tree. The cross stands as the turning point of human history—where our debt was paid in full and life was restored to all who believe.
