He was in Texas campaigning for a second term and went on a little car ride with the governor and his wifey Jackie- O. He was riding in an open-top convertible through Dealey Plaza, Kennedy was shot by a sniper. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the murder but was killed by nightclub owner Jack Ruby before he could stand trial. The event led to numerous conspiracy theories and remains a subject of extensive investigation and debate. Several conspiracy theories surround JFK's assassination. Some suggest multiple gunmen were involved, while others believe the CIA orchestrated the murder. Another theory claims the Mafia killed Kennedy in retaliation for his administration's crackdown on organized crime. There are also ideas that Soviet or Cuban agents were behind the assassination, and some propose that insiders within the U.S. government conspired against him.
