Danielle Smith she is a Canadian politician, former lobbyist, and former columnist and media personality who has been serving as the 19th premier of Alberta and leader of the United Conservative Party (UCP) since October 2022. She was elected as the UCP leader after Jason Kenney resigned in May 20222. She won the provincial election in May 2023, defeating the incumbent New Democratic Party led by Rachel Notley. Some of the main policies and actions of Smith’s government are: Decentralizing Alberta Health Services (AHS) to give more local control and zonal management over health care delivery. Extending Albertan autonomy by challenging federal policies on carbon tax, equalization payments, and pipelines. Supporting the development of the oil and gas sector and creating jobs and economic growth. Defending parents’ rights in education and health care decisions for their children.
