John is committed to the UCA being a safe place for all people. John’s commitment to this work has been expressed through local, regional, and state councils of the UCA. Most recently, John supported the directed the work of the UCA in responding to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and then developed the Uniting Church’s National Safe Church Unit, supporting and resourcing the Church to be the best it can be in ensuring the Church is indeed a safe place for all.
John is married to Alison, who has launched a training organisation for young people living with disability.
John is dad to Jasmin an amazing young woman living with disability charting her course in the world, and Isaak, an awesome young man who after finishing school is seeking to engage in supporting people to live their best life.
John enjoys the open road on his Harley Davidson and watching live sport (his playing days are far behind him with knees that do not work so well anymore).
