Ο Άρης Χατζηστεφάνου τον συναντά στο εισαγωγικό επεισόδιο της σειράς, προσπαθώντας να μάθει όσα τόσο υψηλά ιστάμενοι δεν ήθελαν να ξέρουμε. Όσο προχωρά η έρευνά του, τόσο περισσότερο συναντά το όνομα Μάθιου Μπογκντάνος. Είναι ο πρώην συνταγματάρχης ελληνικής καταγωγής που υπηρέτησε στο Ιράκ και την Κορέα, κι εδώ και κάποια χρόνια εργάζεται στην εισαγγελία της Νέας Υόρκης.
