Ep196 - The Ormidales

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to the Canadian musical duo, The Ormidales. Channa discovered Ormidales via Facebook.

Based in Vancouver Canada, The Ormidales were formed in 2007 by singer/songwriters Bill Oliver and Mark Branscombe. They have co-written, produced, and released three independent albums, the self- titled “The Ormidales",“These Little Dreams”, and  “Bijou Blue” as well as numerous singles and videos during the past few years. These releases have been critically well-received and have achieved airplay throughout Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Asia.

The Ormidales compose within various tempos, genres, and moods. Their unique sound is a result of their love of multi-genre music and their willingness to venture into many styles of music. Numerous reviewers and radio presenters remark that the songwriting is characterized by strong visual imagery. There is always a story and setting behind the songs, resulting in meaningful lyrics and impactful aural tones that are well-suited to visual storytelling.

The Ormidales work in universal themes and create music that comments on current social conditions. The music resonates with listeners by provoking emotions while providing a comforting familiarity. Consequently, these listeners often find themselves or their acquaintances cast as characters within the fabric of an Ormidales song.
