Most complaints and disagreements come from lack of understanding. When we fail to listen carefully what the person is saying, they remain unheard which leads to feeling dissatisfied. Our job in any relationship is to understand other people's needs and find a way of meeting them since we are the only people who promised to meet their needs. This goes both ways.
