In this episode, we learn about the power of drone-driven solutions and participatory GIS applied to marine spatial planning. Our guest Dr. Kim Baldwin is a marine ecologist and a commercial drone pilot from California who specializes in environmental drone mapping and community-based monitoring in the Caribbean. She has been conducting marine mapping and monitoring field research across the Caribbean for over 20 years. Dr. Kim also offers a variety of in-person and virtual training courses that allows people to quickly and easily learn how to leverage drone technology, web mapping, and analysis tools to support various environment management applications. Listen as she shares her journey into this exciting field of research and her passion for participatory GIS, and engaging local communities. We discuss how drones and other technologies can be leveraged to connect people with their environment and improve environmental management.
