Ep 06: Lakey Peterson - World Title Races, Evolving Her Surfing, The Role of Coaches
WSL commentator Joe Turpel talks with Championship Tour star Lakey Peterson in the midst of their 14-day Australian quarantine. Lakey looks back at her quick ascension through the ranks, growing up in Santa Barbara, building a relationship with Channel Islands surfboards and the Merrick family, and going from learning to surf to qualifying for the tour in just five or six years. She details how surfing Bells Beach refined her approach, how the World Title races shaped her outlook, and how she finds inspiration in her sparring partner Caroline Marks. She also touches on the upcoming Rip Curl WSL Finals and takes the Quarantine Quiz.
Watch Lakey at the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona April 1-11 on worldsurfleague.com.
