Episode 27: Black Widow, the Nerd Review

It's Black Widow time! Serious SPOILER alert as the Catholic Nerds review the latest Marvel installment, at least until Scarlet Johansson's lawyers remove the movie from this timeline and multiverse. So, yes - we check in with the Scarlet vs. Disney lawsuit and how they might handle the release of Black Widow on Disney+ Premium. Then, the C-Nerds deal with interesting items, like who is our favorite member of the Romanoff family unit:

  • Is it David Harbour of Stranger Things awesomeness, the Red Guardian? Did he really fight Captain America? Is old Captain America really Stan Lee?
  • Or is Momma Melina Vostokoff, played by Rachel Weisz, the Iron Maiden? What's more, the owner of a herd of kunekune pigs??
  • Then, there's the real star Yelena Belova, played by the always scene-stealing Florence Pugh? And don't forget that Easter egg scene at the end with Countess Valentina, played by the hysterically awesome Julia Louis-Dreyfuss! Did this directly set up Disney Plus’ stand-alone Hawkeye TV show, in which Florence Pugh will star alongside Jeremy Renner? Is it hinting at something more sinister, like Red Skull being behind Countess Valentina?? AND does the TVA from the Loki series really spell VAL, upside-down?
  • OR, is it Black Widow, herself, Natasha Romanoff?

Was Black Widow "just like Budapest all over again"? And how did Marvel do tying up all those references to Black Widow's past?

For your C-Nerd listening pleasure, Episode 27 awaits ...
