Is veganism a "white privilege"? Piyush and I delve into it on this episode, covering subjects such as the caste system; the idea of veganism as a "Western" idea; and a form of racism known as the 'bigotry of low expectations'.We also cover the topic of Indians claiming household cows are "treated well" in India, and briefly touch on the recent wave of anti-Indian hatred online.

"If someone doesn't care about wild animal rights, they're not vegan."
I'm pleased to be joined by Patrick of Foolproof Mastery for this episode, where we discuss his above comment, and its possible entailments, including the scope of veganism; wild animal suffering; and what can be done about predation.

Donald Trump's emphatic win in the latest Presidential Election has sent waves of shock and also of "hate to say I told ya so" across the world. The latter reaction comes from a large contingent of people, including on the left, who, frankly, saw it coming. London-based animal rights activist Connor Anderson returns to the podcast for this episode to give his takes on what has gone so wrong for the left in the culture war over the last few years. Staunchly on the left himself politically, Connor is one of the many left-leaning people in the vegan community who has become disillusioned with the modern left and how it engages in "debate" these days. We take a deep-dive into modern leftist rhetoric and delve into just what is going so wrong for the left side of the culture war. _____ Connor's compilation of "leftist wet-wipes": Sunny Hostin (The View) https://x.com/HustusMichael/status/1854201466103410994 Screaming woman in car https://www.tiktok.com/@lexiiivlogs_/video/7434156965909007658?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7396334723511272992 University of Oregon Assistant Director https://x.com/OldRowOfficial/status/1854513579711496216 I want bad things to happen to you https://x.com/tpbreaking/status/1854648631275524214/video/1 Friend voted for Donald Trump https://www.tiktok.com/@janedoe11918/video/7434174116489366815?lang=en Report ‘Latinos for Trump’ to ICE https://x.com/HotSpotHotSpot/status/1854686674069995614/video/1 Mother tells kids that Trump won https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1854329249815015880
NEO 10Y holds intersectional and progressive values, but believes intersectionality is being wrongly implemented into animal rights spaces by various activists, and comes on to talk with me about the double-standards he sees.
We discuss "wokeism", "white veganism", and if spirituality is indeed the enemy of veganism, among other things.

In 2010, Bryony was in a very dark place, injecting heroin into her foot in a nightclub toilet. Come 2024 and Bryony has turned her life around, running her own business as a handstand and calisthenics coach, promoting a healthy plant-based diet, and living a life free of drugs and alcohol.
A very obvious content warning: this episode explores distressing themes such as bereavement, hard drugs, and addiction.

Dr. David Benatar is a very special guest of mine indeed. A philosophical heavyweight renowned for his work worldwide, Dr. Benatar coined the term 'anti-natalism' and wrote the infamous anti-natalist book 'Better Never to Have Been', which puts forward the argument that it is bad that sentient life comes into existence and that we ought not procreate. Dr. Benatar's work has shaped my life immensely.
In this episode, I put to Dr. Benatar (a vegan anti-natalist himself) the idea put forward by NATALIST vegans (i.e. vegans who believe procreation is NOT immoral) that anti-natalism could actually HARM animals in the long run.
We discuss whether anti-natalist vegans should have a duty to clear the most land space to prevent creation of new life; whether veganism's environmental "benefits" are indeed a benefit; the contentious killing predators debate; and whether humans need to be around to help mitigate the horrendous issue of wild animal suffering. Plus, Dr. Benatar gives his opinion on what vegans with carnivorous animals such as snakes in their care ought to do with the animal.

David C. Arenas is an animal rights activist from Colombia. He is passionate about veganism from a rights-based perspective and is well-versed on the history of veganism and the animal rights movement.
In this episode he shares the red flags he spotted leading up to CosmicSkeptic's recent u-turn, and we discuss the initial intentions of the founders of the Vegan Society. David also shares why Leslie Cross—not Donald Watson—was perhaps the most significant figure in the foundation of the modern vegan movement and its principles, and talks about the errors he has seen the Vegan Society make since Cross's initial doctrine. David also shares why he sees utilitarianism as an incompatible philosophy with veganism.
