Episode 7: Quebec Humane Society

In this episode, Lori and Sarah interview Félix Tremblay, the executive director at the Quebec Humane Society. This refuge oversees applying municipal, provincial, and federal regulations for domestic animals.

Félix Tremblay explains that, while the pandemic affected the dynamic of team meetings, there were a lot of positives that came from such a difficult time. For example, the Humane Society adopted a new system, relinquishment on appointment, which allows the organization to collect more information on the animals to better inform future owners of the pet’s personality.

Due to the boom in adoption requests, the Humane Society has been having trouble meeting the demands of their clientele. Animals are staying in the refuge for a fewer number of days compared to pre-pandemic times.

Tune in to hear the encouraging numbers coming out of this shelter during the pandemic!
