Sheldon Yakiwchuk on His Entry into Municipal Politics

Canadian politics under Justin Trudeau have become an even greater mess of woke governance and wasteful spending than most of us can begin to imagine, and while the scale of their economic failings dwarf anything else in the nation, many municipalities across the country seem keen to imitate the federal governments reckless virtue signal spending.

Calgary’s Jyoti Gondek is arguably one of the worst offenders when it comes to burning through money on woke passion projects while failing to address the actual responsibilities of a municipal government, and accordingly many polls have her listed as one of Canada’s least liked mayors. Many of her like-minded city council colleagues are nearly as unpopular as she is, but unlike Mayor Gondek a good number of them have already decided that seeking re-election would likely not be a good use of their time.

Many of us complain about politics, few do anything about it, and fewer still actually step up to run for office in an effort to be the change they want to see in the world. Sheldon Yakiwchuck is doing exactly and has announced his intention to run for city council in Calgary. Adam was joined by Sheldon to examine why municipal politics has gone so woke and to discuss restoring common sense policies in the city of Calgary.
