Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate (Live Interview From Canada)

Since 2016, Man 2 Man – Urban Youth Advocate, Inc. has provided educational programs, mentorship, and support services to young men between the ages of 10 and 24. Our team is comprised of professionals and community leaders who are driven by a strong desire to give back to the community and help underserved young men reach their full potential.

The young men we currently serve come from various walks of life and ethnicities. The majority of the young men we serve are predominantly men of color and overwhelmingly the product of single-mother homes, with little to no guidance, and a noticeable lack of an adult male role model. Most of our young men are also unemployed, under-employed, and living below the poverty level.

We see the young men we serve as individuals who have the potential to be powerful, positive, protective co-parents, and productive members of society if given the right tools to thrive. Our organization aims to provide practical principles and resources to produce men who care and support themselves, their families, and their community.

We currently offer a fatherhood program that promotes healthy families through co-parenting relationship building and parenting training. We also offer a conflict resolution program that provides individuals with strategies and techniques they can use to control their responses during anger-provoking situations. We also offer a job preparation program that provides job and life skills training in order to help our young men achieve their educational and vocational goals and to assist them in obtaining and keeping jobs.
