Dear Members of the Executive Council at ABAI,

As a fellow behavior analyst and member of the scientific and professional community represented by this association, I want to express my profound disagreement with the leniency shown in regards to individuals and institutions that use and promote aversive procedures of behavior modification.

I want to show you my support of Dr. Amy Odum and Dr. Jonathan Tarbox in reinforcing that procedures like Contingent Skin Shock and institutions like Judge Rotenberg “Educational” Center do not represent the ethics and conduct of Behavior Analysis as a field, and that of its practitioners as service providers of humane, person-centered, evidence-based, and effective treatments.
