The very first episode of By The Book was dedicated to "Fighters across frontiers. Transnational resistance in Europe, 1936–48", edited by Robert Gildea and Ismee Tames, and published by Manchester University Press in 2020. Ismee Tames was our guest, alongside Arturo Zoffmann Rodríguez, who provided a comment on the book.


Production and editing was by Diana Barbosa. Funding was provided by the Foundation for Science and Technology.
