A podcast for Busy Black Mums who love to read, and want to up their reading game. We discuss books, recommendations and other random life stuff. Us Mums have a lot on our plate. We know that. How many tines have you started reading a book, or wanted to read a book, but just never got round to doing it because you had one million and one other things to do? Along with other mums, we challenge the assumption that as busy mums (and especially busy black mums), reading (and enjoying ourselves) is something we have to sacrifice in order to cope with the demands life throws at us.

Book review: Powerless by Lauren Roberts and Children of Anguish and Anarchy by Tomi Adeyemi

Hello and Happy New Year!

In this first episode of 2025, we are talking New Year bookish resolutions and asking what those look like for you. Did you meet your reading goals in 2024? What goals are setting in 2025? Whether you did or not, I hope you have an amazing year of discovering the world through books.

We also reviewed one of booktok's most talked about books from 2024- the Powerless series by Lauren Roberts and wrapping up with a review of the hotly anticipated finale of the Children of Blood & Bone trilogy- Children of Anguish and Anarchy by Tomi Adeyemi.

As always, please like, subscribe and share with your reading buddies and let us know what you think @busyblackmumsdoread@gmail.com.

Happy reading!
