The "Bulldog Drummond" radio show was a popular American crime drama that aired from April 13, 1941, to March 28, 1954, primarily on the Mutual Broadcasting System.Based on the character created by British author H.C. McNeile (writing as "Sapper"), Captain Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond was a British World War I veteran turned gentleman adventurer whose hobby was crime detection. The radio series, initially set in Great Britain, quickly moved its setting to the United States and was sometimes known as "The American Adventures of Bulldog Drummond."

The show was known for its distinctive opening, created by producer-director Himan Brown, which evoked a London ambiance with footsteps, a foghorn, shots, and three blasts of a police whistle,
followed by the announcer's line: "Out of the fog out of the night... and into his American adventures comes Bulldog Drummond."

Over its long run, several actors played the role of Bulldog Drummond, including George Coulouris, Santos Ortega, Ned Wever, and Cedric Hardwicke. His loyal sidekick, Denny, was portrayed by Everett Sloane, Luis van Rooten, and Rod Hendrickson."Bulldog Drummond" was one of the premiere mystery programs of its time, solving a variety of crimes and encountering numerous underworld characters. While the radio series omitted Drummond's wife and ex-army comrades from the books, it retained his butler, Denny.
