Serving for over 10 years as a Head Coach in Canada’s AFL Aussie Rules, he set out with the goal to transform the league as a national afterthought, to a viable career path for aspiring athletes. During this time, Cody saw the opportunity to help leaders in both the sports world and business world. He met and interviewed hundreds of coaches around the world, and compiled much of his learnings into his first book Where Others Won’t: Taking People Innovation from the Locker Room to the Board Room.
