Chicago, Illinois to Oakland, California on Amtraks California Zephyr. Boarding in Chicago on a Tuesday Afternoon we are scheduled to arrive in Emeryville, California on Thursday. This episode take us across the midwest [mostly at night] and then the next day we climb into and out of the Rockies on the most scenic section of Amtraks routes--it did not disappoint!
