Season 2 Episode 5: Do You Have Time to Talk About These Guns?

Disclaimer: Brief Case Crimes contains graphic depictions of violent acts and is not intended for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised.

One May night in 1983, the night staff at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital watched as a young woman drove into their emergency area shouting "Somebody just shot my kids!". Her seven-year-old daughter, Cheryl Ann, was dead upon arrival, and her eldest, Christie (age 8) and her youngest, Danny (age 3) were in critical condition. What led investigators to believe that Diane was responsible for this and more importantly, what could have driven her to kill and maim her young children?
