The US Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed that audio equipment, apparel, and auto parts prices have all surged since spring, tracing the trend directly back to the Trump tariffs. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell observed that, until recently, importers absorbed two-thirds of these rising costs, but the share passed on to US consumers is rising and could reach 60 percent of the total burden in coming months.
