A conversa é conduzida pelas comunicadoras Bruna Weber e Gina Rusi. ***

Over 65,970 people in BC self-identified as Latin in 2021, according to the latest census. More than 51,000 — 78 per cent of those people — live in Metro Vancouver. With cultural heritage stemming from Mexico to Argentina, 1,000s of years of recorded history, and 660 million people, the diverse experience, passions, and skills of Latin people are making Vancouver a more vibrant and inclusive place.

The challenges faced by the community in overcoming systemic barriers (such as education not being accepted in Canada) to the challenges faced by Latin women as well the ways in which anti-racism can help support new immigrants and current residents will be explored.

We would like to invite you to join us at this community workshop, co-hosted by Latincouver, SUCCCESS, and Foundation for a Path Forward.

The Latin community in BC and Vancouver is one of the fastest growing and most vibrant communities in our cultural mosaic. This workshop focuses on learning more about the successes, challenges, and opportunities facing the Latin, as well as the greater Vancouver community.

Our goal is for you to leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of the Latin community of Vancouver, the diversity and culture that is growing in our city, as well as practical steps we can all take to make it a more welcoming environment for all people.
