In this episode, I reflect on my motivation for starting the podcast and my desire to empower women in childbirth. I openly share my frustration with the lack of education around childbirth and my goal to reach more people with positive and empowering information.
Today I interview my beautiful friend Zora who shares her birth experiences, including a hospital birth during the covid plandemic and a home birth. She discusses her upbringing and the different perspectives on birth in Botswana and South Africa. She also talks about her preparations for both births and her postpartum experiences. Zora shares her experience of having a home birth after a previous miscarriage. She discusses the anxiety she felt throughout her pregnancy and how she used meditation and hypnobirthing to feel empowered. She describes the labor process, including the contractions, the breaking of her water, and the support she received from her husband and daughter. Zora reflects on the positive aspects of her home birth experience and encourages other mothers to trust their bodies and surround themselves with supportive people.
