There is no such thing as bad WEATHER, only bad clothes: a BOOK REVIEW

This book hit me on a different level. It made me travel from one continent to another in my imagination while reading this book. Except for the place where the author backs up her claim with some or scientific evidence this book is really unputdownable. I have never been to the forest as far as I can remember and I have never been in Nature as such to be honest. Brought up in the city, I was so busy in the rat race and hustle and bustle of life that I did not notice how the other half lives(basically people who are connected to nature).

I legitimately went through a process or journey while reading this book. You know sometimes a book takes longer to finish because each and every part of it is to be absorbed and devoured. I don't know much about Scandinivain countries but believe me now I am in awe of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. I wish to take a trip to all these places. There is not a single day when I don't dream about them. And this led me to dig deeper about these countries and this stride of mine landed me on another piece of information that is : these countries rank on the list of happiest countries in the world. As an inquisitive person, my head was demanding an answer to why? Why only these countries? How is it different from the way we live? And then I came across Happiness Research Institute in Denmark. I am an aspiring scientist and research is my passion and getting into this Institute is my dream now.

From subscribing to Jonna Jinton’s youtube channel who lives in a secluded place in North Sweden and follows a very connected-to-nature lifestyle to planning a trip to Abisko, this book provided me with a lot of reasons to why Nature, it told me in a million different languages that girl slow down, look we have a got you a better way of living. A living that is so fulfilling that you would want to give up all materialistic things and follow up a minimalist lifestyle. And it is worth mentioning that Jonna Jinton is an inspiration, her lifestyle, her skills leave me agape every frigging time. Thanks to this book, I could discover her.

There is always a reason why you choose a particular book to read. I chose this book because I have always dreaded winters and to add cherry to the top I have been away from my home for two years where the temperature was constant throughout the year. But because of this lockdown I am at my parents home and hence have to face all the seasons. Then I came across this book “ there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes”. This title sure as hell motivated and baited me to read this book. I couldn't wait to unravel all those ideologies that could put away my fear for winters. And the results are positive. This book taught me how to embrace all seasons and no weather is bad, they are all different from each other. And since it is a part of nature we should enjoy and feel it to the fullest.
