For this week’s episode, we celebrated pride month! We explored Becky Ablertalli’s novel, ‘Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda.’ We delve into the importance of identity and how misleading assumptions can be. We also discuss features of the book such as the writing, and some symbols and themes that are particularly interesting. In addition to this, we also go in depth about the book to movie adaptation- ‘Love Simon.’ We hope you have a happy Pride Month!

For our first episode, we explored Ruta Sepetys’ historical fiction novel, ‘Between Shades of Gray.’ Unlike most historical fiction novels, this book revolves around the mass genocide of the Baltic States at the hands of the Soviet Union, and there’s tons to cover! We go in-depth about some key features that make this novel so impactful. We talk about the significance of the title, writing, themes, and characterisation, all of which come together to create such a beautiful story.
