What is spiritual revival? The classic definition is a powerful personal or
corporate experience resulting in a renewed passion for God. When we think of revival. We
picture fervent worship and passionate preaching which inspires congregants to live out their
faith more authentically and share the gospel with others. But too often it’s an Elmer Gantry
kind of image that comes to mind, a tent meeting somewhere in the rural south with relatively
uneducated people jumping about and speaking in tongues ecstatically. But is that revival or a
cultural caricature? Dr. Bob Larson’s guest, Mike Signorelli, has a new book called "Fire Starters.”

Does this expanding coarseness of conversation have spiritual significance? Is the degradation of vocal expressions, even by people of faith, an indication of lost propriety and a sign of something more sinister?
